We often look to the countries where myths originate from when thinking of the deities that we worship, and often we consider those lands to be sacred. However, the gods go to where they are worshipped and follow their followers. Times have changed greatly over the centuries, and strange as it might seem, a dramatically higher percent of Americans worship Manannan than the people of the Isle of Man that once heralded him as their patron god. Many of the lands that once thrived in Paganism, now follow more mainstream religions.

This doesn't mean one can't still enjoy those countries for the rich history they have and their beautiful lands, but if you are trying to get closer to your God, don't think that going there will nessecarily help. The gods go to those that need them, so begin your search by opening your heart and staying where you are. That is unless you are grapsing for an excuse to go on vacation...
